Comic Character Creations can also create a character or act to your exact specifications. Whether it be an existing character you would like brought to life, an idea for a character you would like animating, or some suggestions as to what might suit your event, let us take care of everything.
Services we offer: *character creation from specifications *costume sourcing and making *actors to animate any character or costume *role-play actors on any subject *event consultancy *act booking (we know a lot of other fantastic performers!) *creativity training *workshops on our artistic process *corporate training See below for some of our previous commissions. These are also currently available to book.
A workshop for the Central School of Speech and Drama to devise a scenario to raise money for
Red Nose Day.
A Gentleman from the Temperance Society protesting at the opening of
Cirque at the London Hippodrome for
Golden Goose PR.
Dressing-Up Box Wardrobe Assistants for a summer party for McKinsey, organised by Outrageous.
Comedy Waiters for an InterX party.
Created specifically for The Brewery's Enchantment Christmas.
The Brewery asked for a puppet that comes to life to be one of the residents of the Enchanted House. We were involved in the creation process from initial storyboarding, through costume design and making, to the final performance.
Lord of the Manor
Also designed for The Brewery's Enchantment Christmas.
The Brewery asked for a character to meet and greet the guests as they arrived at Enchanted House. We thought a cross bewteen Rhett Butler and Gomez Addams would work well! The Lord of the Manor, or Reginald as he is known to his friends,
also attended the British Library singles event. Our characters are very versatile and work in a multitude of settings.
Cavemen
We were asked to provide three Cavemen for a Bar Mitzvah at The Natural History Museum.
We costumed this from scratch and one very messy bathroom later (many thanks to the museum attendant who assited with the clean up!) this was the result.
Batman and Robin
We were asked by MNPA, a provider of pension administration services, to embody Batman and Robin for their Pensions Administration Forum presentation at the Business Design Centre.
The speaker had used the relationship between these two characters to illustrate the relationship between a pensions administrator (Robin) and a company who provides employee pensions (Batman). Our performers leapt onstage at the beginning of the presentation to energise the audience, then did a walkabout afterwards discussing pension administration.
Our greatest compliment that day was "How do you know so much about pension administration?" We had done our research well...
The Man from the Beeb
Nigel Andrews, aka The Man from the Beeb, presented live updates on the comings and goings at
Winchester’s Continental Shifts.
Violet
Reginald
We provided Reginald and Violet as unofficial matchmakers at the British Library singles event Mingle.
Carbon Superheroes
The East England Development Agency called on us to animate the superhero characters they had
created for their Cut Your Carbon Campaign.
The EEDA already had the characters and the costumes ready to go. They called on our experience and expertise at improvisation and interaction to animate the superheroes at various events to work with the public and get them involved with the characters and the scenario.
tramp
The tramp was requested for Faceparty's Carnaval de l'Étrange.
There were many bizarre characters wandering about (including our very own Ugly Tarts), and they wanted a tramp to hang about outside, realistic enough for guests to believe he was real. We created the entire look from charity shops.
We were then asked by Faceparty to reprise the tramp for another party.
Arts Champion vs Dr Dull
These two were for Birmingham City Council Arts Champions initiative. Birmingham City Council teamed up with Arts Champions organisations to let Birmingham residents get closer to the city’s world-class arts offerings.
Birmingham Arts organisations (the Arts Champions) act as advocates for the arts sector giving advice and support within the community to
promote and deliver new activities. The groundbreaking arts initiative that gets Birmingham arts
organisations such as Birmingham Royal Ballet, the CBSO, the REP and Sampad working with
residents in their local area. We costumed the superhero Arts Champion to the council's specifications, but we conceived and costumed Dr Dull as a foil for the superhero to give the act some drama!
Paparazzi
O2 were holding an awards ceremony for their employees at The O2 (where else!)
and we were asked for three very realistic paparazzi as the guests disembarked from their river cruise.
We provided the costumes but more importantly the cameras. Originally sourcing the old-fashioned photographers camera, at the client's instruction we then changed to modern cameras with plenty of 'flash-per-second'!
Santa
When Tower Hamlets Council needed Santa to visit Roman Road Market we called in a favour at the North Pole and next thing you know everyone wants him!
